Birthday Post: Hot Pot

My birthday was right after Thanksgiving and I planned a hotpot. Its the protein version of a fondue in an Asian way. Hotpot consist of a gas range and a pot that is split into two sections. One side is usually filled with broth and the other with hot water. You basically drop (raw) food in and wait for it to cook. One major component of a hotpot is the dipping sauce. You need a savory sauce to dip food in so more favor is brought out.

Our proteins; thin sliced beef, shrimp, fish and meat balls and Enoki mushrooms
Our Veggies; Bok Choy, Watercrest, Chinese cabbage, Udon noodles and more fish and meat balls.
My besties baked me some Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese frosting. They were oh-so-good. I can't bake but my bestie can ~
